In 2021, TAQA proudly introduced our self designed, engineered and manufactured Multi Phase Flow Dynamic Simulator (MPFDS).
This new digital approach has radically and impactfully disrupted traditional well testing. This digitalisation permits the automation of well testing, with infinite diverse data output options based on user specifications. The footprint has been reduced to three square meters, with the operation now being conducted by just two specialists located outside the operating environment. TAQA is leading the transition to digital well testing across the MENA and the rest of the world.
The process of simulating the multi-phase flow composition as executed under fully dynamic conditions in a flow computer, is the first-ever application in multi-phase flow prediction. Simulation replaces the need to physically measuring using sensors.
MPFDS produces extremely accurate results because it reflects the authentic dynamic conditions in the well. It also provides the composition and the properties of the multi-phase flow: water, hydrocarbons, H2S, CO2 and N2. It can also derive a diverse set of properties in real-time, such as molecular weight, density, viscosity, thermo-conductivity, surface tension, entropy, enthalpy and compressibility factor. This broad capability is not possible to achieve through any other method, delivering the high-quality big data required to capitalize on AI.
In 2018, TAQA proudly introduced our in-house designed and manufactured smart well test unit paving the way for the collective transition to smart well testing across the MENA region.
The deployment process is simple – once the mobile unit is positioned on the well site and connected to the well, operations can take place in a fully automated mode.
The smart well testing unit is an in house 4.0 development, that minimises the necessity for human intervention in well testing. It produces a well test analysis of factors such as permeability, skin damage and reservoir fluids, average pressure, heterogeneities, reservoir hydraulic connectivity and boundary distances.
This facilitates the efficient assessment of well conditions and estimation of reservoir parameters. To date, we have performed 140 highly successful flow tests with extremely high levels of client satisfaction demonstrated through feedback.

We provide clients with multipurpose vessels equipped with surface well testing and pumping equipment is permanently installed on the deck. The vessels move easily between wells and platforms to perform a plethora of interventions including flow back, unloading, pumping chemicals, verification and data gathering.
We offer our clients early production facilities (EPFs) which allows wells to be put into production faster, and enables clients to rapidly identify cash flow while continuing to obtain flow data.
