TAQA offers comprehensive, flexible P&A services across both conventional (cement) and non-conventional (bismuth alloy) barriers.
TAQA offers comprehensive, flexible P&A services across both conventional (cement) and non-conventional (bismuth alloy) barriers.
TAQA’s broad range of in-house, low-cost cement abandonment services include slick-line, cement batch-mixing, high pressure pumping and associated services such as well killing and flaring. One example of our total project management approach is outlined in the following case study, a comprehensive, lean campaign conducted on behalf of a North African operator administering a rigless and explosiveness abandonment in Morocco, referenced in the SPE paper 202076.
TAQA partners with BiSN in the deployment of bismuth alloy V0 rated gas tight performance barriers. Championing this latest development in barrier technology for abandonment, TAQA and BiSN are proud to lead the transition to V0 rated gas tight sealing in the domain of P&A. Advantages include economical methodologies in placement of P&A seals inside tubing, casing, section milled single and multiple annuli, as well as the sealing of micro-annuli avoiding SAP-B. A notable benefit is the fact that a 150 ft cement column can be replaced by a qualified 6 feet bismuth alloy abandonment seal – a substitution that now widely receives regulatory consent. TAQA and BiSN are importing these P&A best practices from the North Sea and USA into the MENA region for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders.
